Other than the date of their marriage (and Sarah with her famly in the 1850, 1860, & 1870 Censuses), I cannot find any trace of this couple. My family records confirm that Sarah married "Ed Thompson"-- otherwise, I would think this was the wrong couple. They were white. She was the daughter of James Downing and Mary Clark. Before her marriage, Sarah is shown on the 1870 Census with her mother, Mary, and her sisters Nancy Caroline and Ann. Sarah was born in Alabama.
