Author: margerice1 Surnames: Thompson, Hale, Bidwell Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.thompson/19640/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I have an original four generation Cabinet Card photograph of "Mrs. Clement Hale, mother of Sheldon A. Hale, (who was) father of Mrs. T. O. Thompson, (who was) mother of Clement Hale Thompson", which I'd like to get back to descendants or family members. Photo was taken in Neenah (Winnebago) WI, and their ages look to be: Marinda Hale (abt.early 80s); Sheldon A. Hale (abt.mid 50s); Mary Thompson (abt.mid 30s); Clement Hale Thompson (abt.age 1). I found Clement Hale (age80), wife Marinda Hale (age72) in 1880 census Winnebago Co., WI. In the 1880 census of Waupaca Co., WI, lived Sheldon Hale (age46), with wife and 7 children. 1900 Marathon Co., WI census shows Mary Thompson with DOB Jul 1863, whose husband was Timon O. Thompson. Ancestry Public Member Tree shows Sheldon Atwell Hale with birth Oct 1833, son of Clement Hale and Marinda Bidwell. Clement Hale Thompson in 1917 WWI draft registration shows birthdate Nov 1888, in Whitt?sey, WI. Photo, obviously, was taken in about 1889, based on age of Clement Hale Thompson. Get back to me at margerice@prodigy.net if you are related to the Hale or Thompson families. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. My tracing of this line with proofs pretty much begins with Alexander himself and his Rev. War service. I would love to know more about his extended family including his parents but would need proofs to go with it. Most of what is published I believe is supposition and not proven facts. Thanks. Author: bobanna7 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.thompson/424.564.3.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Mike, Alexander Thompson (1739-1815) is my 6th great grandfather. If you search for Alexander Thomson on ancestry you will see a tree called MS Haneys and LA Thompsons. This is my tree. You can see every thing I have on Alexander and his relatives. I spell his last name without the "p" because that is the way his father signed is name on his will. Alexander had a uncle named John but he died in 1749. As far as I know he did not have a brother named John but he did have at least 4 other brothers, so I wonder if your John could have been one of their children. I have very little info on Alexander's siblings. You can see land documents for Alexander as he moved from PA to NC to GA on my tree. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you hear from Peggy as I would like to correspond with her also. Anna Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Their daughter Elizabeth married Joel Meeks. I had earlier been led to believe that Elizabeth Thomspon Meeks had been the daughter of William Thompson UE and Magdelana Keller, also from Lennox Addington during the same time period, which was not true. I would be interested in any information on this William Thompson who arrived in Ontario shortly after the American Revolution but was not a Loyalist.
