Hello, My Frank David Thompson was b. 16 May 1857 in Butler Co., Ohio, and d. 18 Sept. 1917. To the best of my knowledge, I don't think he had a nickname like 'Buzzy', or I think I probably would have heard about it. He married Mary Jane "Molly" Harris 16 March 1876 in Darlington, Montgomery Co., Indiana. She was born 1857 & d. 1928. Other than this information, all I have is the following: "Well Known Painter Dies: Frank David Thompson, 60, well known painter and paper-hanger of the city, died yesterday morning at 11:40 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Kyle Stradling, on Luick Avenue. Mr. Thompson was born in Ohio. He was a member of the Crawfordsville Lodge of the Loyal Order of Moose. He is survived by two sons, Guy W. Thompson and Harry Thompson; and five daughters, Mrs. Kyle Stradling, Mrs. Edward Knecht, Mrs. Grace Bechtel, Mrs. Charles Knecht, all of Muncie, and Mrs. Grant Hickerson, of Indianapolis. The funeral services will be held at the Stradling home Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Burial will be made in Beech Grove Cemetery." Please know that I have a note written by Pauline Knecht Mitchell, my Father's sister & my Aunt, that says: "Grandfather Thompson had a grocery on the corner just a couple houses away so I spent time there. He would let me fix a treat of candy for those people who paid their bills. He soon found out I was giving his profit away because I filled the sacks with candy, usually the kind I liked. So he stopped this. He spent most of his time entertaining ladies in his back room where he lived. Grandfather or Frank D. Thompson left Molly, my Grandmother, with 7 children to raise. He married Wilda immediately. They had a restaurant in Linden, IN. I was there a couple of times." So....although I doubt that this is who you are looking for, I thought I would sent this info anyway. My Thompson connections are primarily in Indiana, although Frank and all of his siblings were born in Ohio. I've "rescued" an old photograph button of Howard Keith THOMPSON b. 30 Jan 1924 in Pittsburgh, Kansas. Notes on the back indicate that Howard was born to Kenneth Keith & Juanita Dorene THOMPSON and that he was about 10 months only when the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding Howard and his family: Charles Howard K. THOMPSON was b. 30 Jan 1924 in Pittsburg, KS to parents Kenneth Keith THOMPSON (1900-1977) and Juanita D. HOWARD (1904-1985). He was one of three children born to this couple. He married in Clark Co. Nevada in 1940 and had at least one child before he died in Bakersfield, CA on 29 Mar 1970. Census records provide the following details: 1940 census of Galena, KS: Kenneth K. THOMPSON, age 39, born MO, a Highway Trucker Juanita THOMPSON, wife, age 36, born MO Howard THOMPSON, son, age 16, born KS Gerald THOMPSON, son, age 14, born OK Duane THOMPSON, son, age 8, born MO I am hoping to locate someone from this THOMPSON Family so that this wonderful old treasure can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

Regretfully no. I should also mention that there is also an error in my original post. This member of the family... 2-Mary Frances "Fannie" THOMPSON b: about 1836, County Cavan, Ireland ...is actually a *male* named Francis in the 1851 census family listing. While I suppose it's conceivable that a family could have both a Francis and a Mary Frances, I certainly jumped to a premature and unsubstantiated conclusion. It is *so* inviting to conclude that 'my' Mary Frances (Fannie) THOMPSON is a member of that Vaughan Township THOMPSON family listed the 1851 census, especially given that her mother's name was Nancy. There is simply no proof. For now at least, I have severed that connection in my tree, thereby leaving 'my' Fannie without family. In your data, Trevor, do you have a brother of Hugh and William named Francis (male)? Thanks for responding!
