Author: Dawn_Bohannon Surnames: Thompson/Tomson/Tomson/Barnes/Hopps/Brock Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.thompson/17158.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: You have discovered something. In 1867 they were in Michigan. Elizabeth was born in 1893, next and last child, Lulu was born in Michigan in 1898. They COULD have been in Wisconsin between 1893 and 1898 (accounting for the 1895 census) and maybe again in 1905. John was a road and bridge builder and State Highway Director in Michigan. Also in sawmill/lumber business. John's mother died giving birth (I think) to youngest son, Victor. John's father had 4 boys, a new baby, and a 40-acre dairy farm to run in Cass City. Neighbors took care of baby Victor. And then THEY LEFT with him and moved to Wisconsin. Years later, John, now grown took a train trip to Wisconsin to buy lumber. Striking up a conversation with a man sitting next to him he began to tell the story of his baby brother, Victor. The man said, "I know the family." And that is how the family got reconnected with their now-grown brother. A relative (still living) was present when Victor returned to see his Michigan family. You have given me a location to look for Victor! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
