Here is a list of their children: Wm. (Harvey) THOMPSON, b. 1838. m. Manerva Howell ELIZABETH THOMPSON, b. 1839. LOUDIMA THOMPSON, b. 1841. JAMES F. THOMPSON, b. 1846. MARY THOMPSON, b. 1848. THOMAS THOMPSON, b. 1853. MARGARET THOMPSON, b. 1856. m. James Fletcher SALINA O. THOMPSON, b. 1860. One of the daughters I do believe married a McMillan? I have been trying to find all the spouses of these children, in order to find descendants! I am in the process of a breakup and packing my stuff, so I do not have everything to hand and I really need to reorganize all my genealogy stuff! I guess I will try to get to that in the next couple weeks! I would love to have copies of these court records you came up with... So I now know he was alive in 1870! Also would like to know if this Stephen is connected to my Thompson's? Were did you find this info? A cousin told me recently that James Thompson is the father of Lewis, she never said how she came to this conclusion, this is the James Thompson of Lee Co. VA, connected to The Thompson Settlement Church along with a Stephen Thompson!!! I am looking to find the minutes of the church? I have ran across a Nervesta Thompson I do believe in a census next to or real close to Lewis and Sarah? I'll have to look through what I have! Thanks for all this info... Author: ben957 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.thompson/17195/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Could anyone please advise me how to find out more about an Andrew Thompson (Age 30?) who sailed on a ship called 'Athenia' from Belfast to Quebec on 20th of September 1927? Also on board was his wife Rebecca aged 29 and their daughter Sarah E aged 10. They apparently came from Drumskinney that is an area near Kesh in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. He was classed as a farm worker, his wife a housewife and daughter, school. I don't know if he is related to me or not as my Andrew Thompson was born in 1895 which would make him 32, but still .... . If he was my Andrew Thompson he would have been my GUncle, my Grandfather Isaac Walter's brother. Any help or ideas gratefully grasped at. Author: TomSpradling92 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.thompson/17035.2.1.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Evie: I bet you have this record already, but just in case; it was in my file. "Hancock Co. TN Chancery Court Losse Records; Film Roll B-1805", Frame 417: "Lewis and Sarah Thompson vs. David J. Gilbert", dated Oct. 17, 1870. Excerpts: Lewis and Sarah Thompson bought house and ground near Mulberry Gap for $500 from DJ Gilbert. They used part of the Real Estate of her father James Gilbert, dec'd. This took place in Nov. 1859. DJ Gilbert now resides in VA. Also, I have written down an 1870 census abstract Lee Co. VA, White Shoals twp. 366-366: Thompson, Steven 44 Farmer, $3600, $300, b. Lee Co. VA; Nervesty J. aged 35 b. Claiborne co. TN; Jenni(?) R., b Lee Co. VA; Elvis (?) aged 15 b. Lee Co. VA; Dudley aged 13, b Lee co. VA; Josephine aged 10, b Hancock Co. TN; Bemley (?) aged 7, b. Lee Co. VA; Elizabeth aged 73, b. Claiborne Co. TN. I was curious how Steven Thompson fits into your Thompson family. One reason is that I've seen his name around the area of my Bakers...the other is that my Baker's and related families named dau's Josephine...and I see that name is used in this family too.
