Actually my Marion is a different person than yours...I've done a lot of research since leaving that message a few years ago. My Marion is Marion Joseph Thompson and his parents were Isaac Thompson and Martha McKinster. You can find them on the 1900 census in District 123, North Wichita township, Lincoln County, OK. Nancy is listed as Marion's 'cousin' but I think she was just living there as I've not found a relationship between the two of them. Marion and his brother Jesse were born in Vermillion, Illinois but they moved to Oklahoma around 1900. They lived on a farm near Meeker, OK where my grandfather Curtis was born along with his sister Etta and brother Jesse. Marion died in 1907 from a snake bite, and Nancy married his brother Jesse and they had 2 more children, Audra and William Theodore (Ted). Thank you for taking the time to give me all the information on your Marion Thompson. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: maryt10141 Surnames: Thompson Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.thompson/2296.2300.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: There is an extensive genealogy record for Isham Marion Thompson on Rootsweb.com. He was my Great Great Grandfather. He had 11 children with Elzira Farris, my Great great Grandmonther. When he married Your ancestor, he had 8 more children, for a total of 19 children. My Great grandfather was Willis Newton, and my Grandfather was Jess Newton, d in McAlester, Pittsburg Cty, OK in the 1950's. I hope this information helps you. It appears that Isham was a minister for the Church of Christ, so perhaps he was sent to these areas by the church. At the time that they came to Indian Territory, he settled in the Creek Nation. Perhaps there is further information through the tribal documents. For the Choctaw Nation, there were records of non-tribal members living in the Choctaw Nation. There are also some records for the ministers who were approved to perform marriages in the Choctaw Nation. Perhaps the Creek Nation also had their ministers documented also. I have only recently started! the search for this line of my family, so I haven't checked on information that might be available through the Creek Nation. I'm looking for any Thompson family who lived in Baltimore MD or therabouts from 1735-1810. My Thompsons descend from either 5 or 7 Irish protestant brothers who came as indentured servants to America about 1735, who jumped ship in Baltimore harbor so that they didn't have to work off the indentures. I'm interested in looking at any Thompson family who lived in Baltimore or one of the more northern counties of MD.? If you have your tree up on the web somewhere, would you please post a link to that page? Thanks, Amy McWhirter Hutton

In our family there is some question as to the name of my gggrandfather since he was not known by any of his grandchildren...seems my ggrandfather did not talk much about his early life and on his (William W.'s) death certificate I believe there is false information given by his wife,Lucy Matilda(Allen)Thompson, because I find nothing to support it. A few years ago someone did an genealogy on our family line, I don't know if it was a professional genealogist or not; but the info on it supports the fact that Alexander W. Thompson had 2 sons, Wm.W and Franklin. However,Wm. W.' death cert. was found which stated Frank was his father, with Elisabeth being his mother, so I am terribly confused and don't know how to go about proving the information of the genealogy...any suggestions for this amateur detective? I guess this is just rambling to others but very important to my dad, my uncle and me. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
