She died about 1853. In 1850 they are found in Hart County, GA along with children Edward Brockman (my line), Dabney, Burrell, Dorinda (who married a Forrest), Emily, Richard, and Jennings ("Jid"). At this time, Dr. Thompson's mother, Judith Prichett/Pickett Thompson, was with them, age 63 b. VA. The family later settled in Upson County, Thomaston, GA where son Edward Brockman established his family, branches of whom live there today. Any connections to this line? I wonder if any of you did not receive the welcome letter. Please let me know. Also, if you would post a letter to the list telling what THOMASONs you are researching and give some data, maybe someone has some info which would help you. Do you have a homepage somewhere? It would be good to get acquainted. Some of the members I already know. If you do not want your home page exposed to all of the list send to me personally. 1. THOMASSON, Wm.H.,James E.,Jos.G.,W.J., Bedford CO VA
    2. Hello, I am writing a manuscript about the soldiers who served in the 58th Virginia Regiment during the Civil War. So far I have identified over four hundred members of this regiment. These men were all from Bedford and Franklin Counties, Virginia. Most were related to their fellow soldiers. Many were brothers, father and son, cousins, etc. The name of the soldier has been identified as serving in the 58th. I am maintaining a database spread sheet file on all members. I will gladly send you what information I have on this individual if you would like. Also, if you have an ancestor which you believe may have served in the 58th let me know and I will tell you what my data base shows. If you are a descendant of the soldier whose name is listed above, please share with me information such as: family history or other relatives in this unit, a description, if available, of the individual, any of his personal experiences in the War which have either been handled down or of which you have records. Your assistance will enable me to bring these men to life again in my manuscript. Thank you, Luther McLain, Phoenix, AZ, native of Bedford County VA ==== THOMASON Mailing List ====

    3. Hello to all... I am new to this list and joined to see if I could find clues to a family I am researching in Rutherford County, NC. Looking for the parents of Adeline, wife of Isaac Jackson CONNER. Adeline was born ca1819 according to census records. In 1850 Rutherford County Census, there is a Nancy THOMASON, born ca 1785 living with this family. Possibly the mother of Adeline?? Adeline and Jackson's daughter, Martha CONNER WILSON's death certificate states her mother's name was Adeline JONES. I have found nothing to substantiate this. If anyone can help me with this, I would appreciate it. Will gladly share the information I have on this family. 3. We are just getting the LIST off the ground and have a few members. I am the list sponsor and I would like for each of you to put a little story on it to tell who you are searching for and make a little outline of your family. If you share your family with all on the list we could begin to help one another. Maybe something like mine: I am Carlos Thomason, b 1912. My father was Charles Calvin Thomason, b. 1885, his father was Thomas Terrill Thomason, b. 1858 in Albertville, AL. His father was George Russell Thomason b. 1836, Carnesville, GA., his father was William Turner Thomason, b. 1805 Elbert GA., his father was George Thomason, b. 1771 in SC, His father was William Turner Thomason B abt 1747. Here I am stuck. If someone sees a familiar name on your chart they could check with you, either on the list or on your personal address. Unless we grow until it would be cumbersome, I would like to make a file of all the list members families. At least see how it goes. For the moment we would like Thomasons only, unless the spouse would help to identify him. (Personal) CarlosThomason@juno.com (To all the list) THOMASON-L@rootsweb.com

    1. My Ancestors/Mes Ancetres
    2. http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/h/e/b/Brenda-M-Hebert "Mes Anctres" I just finished revising my genealogical web site at familytreemaker.com. If you haven't seen it at all, or you haven't seen it in awhile, come by and take a look. I broke up my Ahnentafel chart and made three ahnentafel charts to make it a bit easier to find my ancestors. Then there is the ahnentafel chart of my son's father. #1 is "Ancestors of Edward Joseph Hebert" which has all my French-Canadian ancestors, plus two German lines (DOCKSTADER & WOLFF) which moved into Qubec. This is the largest of the 4 ahnentafel charts I have. #2 is "Ancestors of Lillian Gertrude Merkle." She was my paternal grandmother. She is 1/2 German and 1/2 Irish. I don't have a lot on the MERKLEs, nor the Irish part (still trying to dig up those roots), but there is a lot of information out of Friesenheim, B-W about the ancestors of her paternal grandmother Helena TASCHER. #3 is "Ancestors of Sharon Elizabeth Beatty." This is my mom. Her father's BEATTY family is out of Armstrong Co, Pennsylvania, there is a lot of Germans, plus on French line and 4 Irish lines. Then there are quite a few dead ends. On her mother's side there is English, Norwegian, and what looks like roots coming out of New England and Ohio. #4 is "Ancestors of Robert Stephen Smith." This is my son's father. His family has been in the South for a long time. His mother's grandfather was General Claire Lee CHENNAULT, the C.O. of the Flying Tigers. There are also other surnames scattered like: LEE, HOUSTON, ROBERTS, SANDERS, THOMPSON, THOMASON, and several others. Everyone is welcome to stop by and peruse my site. if you see a familiar surname, e-mail me. Even if you don't see a familiar surname, e-mail me and let me know what you think! I try to update the web site every month or so as I find more information to include, so you're all more than welcome to stop by on a regular basis! http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/h/e/b/Brenda-M-Hebert
