Catherine Thomas was born abt 1803 in NC. I have not been able to pin down which county yet. She married James Adams abt 1824 in NC. They had their first three children there starting with 1. John Quincy Adams b. 1825, he married an Elizabeth ?, in MO. 2. Samuel Madison Adams b. 1826, NC. md. 22 Sep 1850 in MO. to Jane Cox. had a son Isaac. 3. Barsheba Adams b. 1831 in NC md 19 MAr 1848 in Ray COunty MO., Asa Mann b. 1805 in VA. had 6 children. 4. Mary Jane was born 1835 in Ray County, MO. MArried Thomaas Davis of KY. 5. Benjamin Franklin Adams b. 21 Oct 1839, Ray County, MO. md. Sep 5 1859 in Ray COunty to Lodusky Jane Roanski Cummins. 6. Cleopatra Ann Adams b. 27 Aug 1841, Ray County, MO. md. 16 Sep 1866 Ray County, MO., Abram Powell b. in Indiana 1842. 7.Henry Clay Adams b. 1843, Ray COunty MO. md. Martha Shanks 20 Jan 1863. 8. George Washington Adams b. 20 Feb 1847, Ray County, MO md. Susan Taylor 13 Feb 1867 in Ray County, MO. All of the census records report that James Adams was born in TN . He was supposedly 1/2 Cherokee . I have no proof other than family lore. The family ccetainly has the cheekbones though. Any Thomas that fits into this area would be much appreciated.
