I have William Thomas,brn.abt.1748,Southampton Co.Virginia(this has been traced to Southampton,and told records destroyed during Civil War.Know of one son for sure,Patrick Thomas,listed brn. abt.1782,Va. AN 1850 Census states his birthplace as Maryland.Patrick settled in Cleveland,Cuyahoga Co.Ohio.Marr. Sally Edwards.both buried there.Mentioned in historical books and obits in newspaper,that William was an Uncle to Gen.George Henry Thomas of Civil War fame.. Other possible children of William Thomas are;Sarah Thomas,brn abt. 1778,Greene Co.Pa. marr.David Hendershot. Thomas Thomas,born abt. 1780,marr.Mary McIlrath,he drowned East Cleveland,1814. Levi Thomas,brn.abt.1785,marr. Hannah Graham Nellie Thomas,marr.-----Day Elizabeth Thomas, brn. 1789,Greene Co.Pa.,marr. Jacob Coleman. Can not find anymore info on William or prove he was an uncle to the General...George Henry's father did have a brother,William,but can not find anything!
