Jane, I think I've found the family: JW & Rebecca Thomas, 1880 census, located in Burton KS with several children: Harvey (1869 IL), J Benton (1872 IL), Clara (1874 IL), Charles (1876 IL). JW Thomas lists his birth state as OH, but his father was born in PA. My grand-mother, Cora Lee, was born approx 1889. According to Wichita census (1910), Rebecca was widowed by then. Is there a JW Thomas in yor PA Thomas family tree? How about your friend from ML? Regarding your friend from Medicine Lodge, I don't think any of my grandmother's family lived there because we would have had contact with them.
