Dear 'Thomas clan'~ I continue to enjoy the great flurry of THOMAS messages! But--I haven't found my CT connection yet~ so haven't connected to their THOMAS ancestors homeland. Please- anyone recognize my James THOMAS Searching James THOMAS, b.Abt 1822 in CT. m.25 Jul 1841 Litchfield Co., CT Spouse:Harriet EDGET / EDGITT Children of James and Harriet: Ellen THOMAS, b.9 Apr 1844 in CT. For years now, I have been unable to establish a CT connection for my THOMAS family. I'm indebted to this treasured THOMAS site (Thanks Vickie!) for noting James THOMAS with wife Harriet and children in 1850 census Newtown, Fairfield Co., CT, which is located on Long Island Sound-- and my thoughts are that they would not have come over in the 1620's as my father believed. Note from my long deceased father[so--heresay]: "THOMAS came to America 1620's and that he had a tract of land next to William Penn.". maybe not true--but--were it true that's 200 years of CT hx unbeknown to me. James (b.Abt 1822) and Harriet (b.Abt 1825)and the 3 children were born in CT, so it doesn't give me a clue as to their homeland. Any help appreciated! marc
