I have looked at both books before....I will reread what you have sent as soon as I can....but I have a busy two days-- today and tomorrow. The last time that I was looking at the books that you mention below, I think that I remember that I began suspecting that I descend from the Edward Thomas who is mentioned in your #7 note below. Why did I think that? As I recall the following clues came to me: Edward's wife's name was Sarah. My Sarah Thomas McKinsey (Sarah is my brick wall) could possibly have been named after a mother.... I have found Edward's land in SC living among the following Thomas men: Nehemiah, Thomas, Isaac and Timothy. There are also many Quaker names that I recognize. I would be happy to send those names along if it would be helpful. I believe that Edward sold his land and moved to the area near Guilford County, NC again among Quaker families there. I believe that Edward had a son named Edward as he is mentioned in Nehemiah Thomas's will. I think that it is quite possible that Sarah had married George McKinsey by the time that Edward and his family moved to NC and thus stayed behind in SC. Sarah died before the rest of the family moved to Warren County, OHio in the mass migration of the Quakers out of the south and into Ohio and Indiana in the first decade of the 1800's. But the fact that George and Sarah Thomas McKinsey remained extremely close to the childless couple, Nehemiah and Abigail Thomas and by the fact that Abigail is called aunt-in-law in her will when she leaves everything to George and his children in Ohio (she was living on land that she had bought from George at the time)....makes me think that Nehemiah is a brother to Sarah. Some of this information is fact--based on documentation....some of it is wild guesses that I am making. When I get more time, if you would like more precise information, I'll try to clean this paragraph up so that you will see what is documented fact and what is speculation. Sorry, that's all the time that I have this morning. Thanks a million for taking the time to send along all of the below! You are welcome to post anything that is helpful from my e-mail to the Thomas list. I just feel as if my undocumented information is not that helpful to archive....I have posted more than once questions looking for someone who descends from either of the two Edwards in NC and recieved no response.
