Like Sam, I haven't seen this kind of activity in the two years I've been a member of the mailing list. I'm hoping someone can see this and know exactly which John I'm talking about. I'm researching a John Thomas who married a Sarah Britt in Bertie County, North Carolina on November 26, 1800. I think this might be the John Thomas who settled in Darlington, South Carolina in about 1802 and remained there until about 1829 when he relocated to Pike County, Alabama. He died in Pike County, Alabama in 1849 and is buried there. While living in Darlington he and wife, Sarah had eight children. They were (1) John, jr., (2) Mary, (3) Theophilus, (4) Catherine, (5) Cornelius Cotton, (6) Jemima & Delida (twins) (8) Isaac Jackson. There would be three more children born in Pike County, Alabama. They were (9) James Henry, (10) William, (11) Sarah. If any of you fellow Thomas researchers have any ideas concerning this particular line, I'd surely welcome any input at all. I'm at the end of my rope after having traveled to Darlington, Columbia, and Charleston to research the line and coming home to Florida empty. Thanks. Ken Hughey [email protected]
