As the THOMAS list administrator, I have not seen this list used this productively in a long time. Candy Wagner and her research is to be credited for this effort. She did the research of the courthouse records. The information, we need, will be buried in the archives in both Kentucky and Tennessee, if they have not be destroyed by some calamity. It's people, like Candy who spend the time to surface this information and chose to share it with the rest of us, that make it possible. If there were a "Candy Wagner", "Jim Thomas" or "Allen Thomas" in every courthouse; in every county; & in every state, we could get every Thomas line connected back to their origination in benchmark time.
