His cousin, Christopher Columbus was either born in Virginia or Georgia, depending on which census you look at, also in 1820. He died in 1885, also in Caldwell County, Kentucky. There is rumor that CC's birth family went to Texas from Georgia and then CC went back to Tennessee and then to Kentucky (or they found themselves in Kentucky without moving from Tennessee. William Robert married Mary Emmeline Bates born in Tennessee. Christopher Columbus married Mary Melinda Keller also born in Tennessee. After Mary Melinda died in 1875, CC married Amanda Caroline Franklin. Amanda married William Robert after CC died. Who were the parents of these Thomas men? Does this sound familiar to anyone?
