I am putting out the post to see if there is anyone out there interested in the Thomases of Pickens County AL. My first Pickens County AL ancestor is my grt grandfather Benjamin C. Thomas (d. 1868). I have spent many years of "mining" the records of this twice burned county to prove that Benjamin C. Thomas is the son of Tristram S. Thomas of Pickens County -- and I believe that in my 50+ page report with over 100 citations that I have proved this. Tristram S. Thomas is the son of George Thomas who has been proved to be the son of William "Ram Billy" Thomas of Richmond County NC and Talbot County MD. I sort of feel all alone about this effort. Somehow, somewhere there are descendents of George, Tristram, and Benj. C. Thomas who might be interested, but I have yet to find them.
