My Thomas family is without a father in 1870. All were born in = Virginia. Sullivan County, Tennessee Census: Elizabeth Thomas age 47 Head of Household Farmer Mary S. 21 Miletta 19 Martha S. 17 Emma 15 John C. 12 Martha S. married William Hammer Brown b.1859 in Bristol, Tennessee. = John C. married Celia Scott. He died after 2 yrs of marriage. =20 I'm hoping someone will recognize this family & be able to give me a = name for the father. It's possible he died during the Civil War.
