    3. Beginning last weekend, I undertook the task of locating every THOMAS buried in the four subject counties born before 1900. Of course, the collection started with the cemeteries in the west corner of Laurens Co., Montrose to Dudley, as I was in searching of my g-g-g grandfather, CHARNAL H. THOMAS [born 1827] and his father WILLIAM L. THOMAS [born 1789]. In the search, I found more unmarked graves with a concrete cover or simple head & foot markers. In one cemetery, I'll call it the JONES CEMETERY as it appeared to be predominantly JONES, there were about 20 concrete covered gravesites located out in the wood line at the back of the cemetery. On clearing debris from the covers, no markings were found on the covers to indicate who these people were. The front area seems to be well-kept. The cemetery is located at the Haskins Crossing / SR26 exit off of I16, to the north of I16, on the first paved road to the left, within 1 mile of I16. An occupied house sits directly across the road from the cemetery, which is on the south-side [left travel west] of the roadway. We plan to going back down, do a little work to clear the site and try to determine who these people were. Anyone from the local area in Laurens Co., GA have any ideas?
