"History of Ancient Woodbury, Connecticut", 1854, by William Cothren, reprinted in 1977 and 1996 and available on Family Tree Maker Family Archive CD #117 shows Benajah C. Thomas born in Woodbury Aug. 2, 1778 to David Thomas (b. Apr. 16, 1756 and Abigail Case (m. Sept. 4 1777)(all page 723). David is son of Deacon Charles Thomas (Bapt. Woodbury July 3, 1720) and Mary Barges. Deacon Charles Thomas is son of Jeremiah Thomas, who died Dec. 10, 1752. (page 722) Donald Lines Jacobus in "Families of Ancient New Haven" gives the Jeremiah who died Dec. 10, 1752 as the son of John Thomas and Mary Blakeslee (Mary b. New Haven 2 Nov. 1659) (page 1729). Jacobus speculates that this John might be a nephew of John and Tabitha Thomas, who immigrated to New Haven Colony bef. 1639. Jacobus is available on Family Tree Maker Family Archive CD #179, or as the first ten or twelve years of "The American Genealogist", in the 1920s and 1930s.
