    1. [THOMAS] Thomas Family Book
    2. Hello ntbrown, it appears that you have hit the nail on the head with your answer to all the book questions. The only Thomas book I've seen was a "History of Charlton County, GA". (can't remember the author at this writing). It had my maternal grgrandparents; did not know her maiden name; had grgrpa's name spelled wrong which sent us off in another direction; had their children all mixed up with 2nd generation; had birth dates and deaths in error and basically was totally incorrect. I finally got a listing from another source and they had my grandfather's children partially listed and all mixed up between his 3 wives., to say nothing of not listing his last 2 wives who gave him no children. My point is that there are a lot of "BOOKS" and "TREES" that are not proven and are horrendously inaccurate; don't trust these books, but dig thru your own family records, personal knowledge and take what you can from rootsweb; remember also that even census reports taken in the late 1800 - early 1900's were gathered by and given by persons with little or no education, names were spelled in many variables and having worked in court records for 30 some years, I found many spelling variables even as recently as 1970's. I handled documents that were still signed with an X mark in the 1970's. My greatest point is that when "books" are written and published it is for the purpose of making money, not necessarily for the purpose of accuracy. Happy hunting to all who are searching; thanks to those who have searched diligently and found proof certain the facts they print and share with all of us. geniekin@cs.com

    3. Hello Group I see a lot of postings here for the many Thomas' across the south, but is anybody here on the list researching Thomas' from Massachusetts and Maine? In particular, is there anybody here who has definitive sources connecting the Maine Thomas' with the Thomas' of Plymouth County Massachusetts? I look forward to hearing from anybody and everybody.
