Born in Knox County, Tenn., he was a son of the late Otha Herbert Thomas and Annie Clabo Thomas and was the husband of Bessie Solomon Thomas of Lynchburg. Mr. Thomas was a retired truck driver with the Red Ball Trucking Co. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Robert L. Thomas of Rustburg and Clark M. Thomas of Port Deposit, Md.; six sisters, Mrs. Maude T. Smith of Seymour, Tenn., Mrs. Pauline B. Branch, Mrs. Edith T. Hancock, Mrs. Evelyn T. Branson, Mrs. Margaret Anne T. Bennett all of Knox Co., Tenn. and Mrs. Ruby T. Lane of Knoxville, Tenn.; three brothers, George Thomas of Phoenix, Ariz., Frank Thomas of Knox Co., Tenn. and Charles R. Thomas of Jefferson City, Tenn.; two grandchildren, M. Anne Thomas Doyle of Boulder, Colo. and R.O. Bickington Thomas of Richmond.
