Yes, but you must be a male, and have the surname Thomas. Women do not have the Y chromosome that the researchers test for males. You can do this Y Chromosome test on a male cousin, even 2 or 3 times removed, as long as his last name is Thomas. In the DNA testing, some persons, with surnames that are NOT THOMAS, may also match some portion of the Thomas Y Chromosome. It is worthwhile to view their pedigrees as well, since doing so might reveal some information for you. I believe it pushes back the probable common ancestor several more generation.
