I don't know if you're only asking Sherry Crawford these questions, but I would certainly like to continue to go back further on my Thomas line. The furthest back I can go is my gg grandfather, Stephen A. Thomas, who was born in North Carolina in about 1798. We don't know what county, though. He married a Jane H. ? (can't seem to find out her maiden name) and she was born in about 1800 in South Carolina. They had a VERY LARGE FAMILY of 14 and they moved to Georgia, the last county they were in being Harris Co., Georgia, before moving to Coosa Co., Alabama. Their son, John Q. Thomas, born about 1833, was my great grandfather. He married Amanda M. Brown, and they moved also to Coosa Co. in 1850. Stephen Thomas was lynched in about 1864, accused of harboring Southern deserters. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
