I descend from James S. Thomas. He joined the Confederate Army in Union County, GA and on his papers he states that his residence is in Lumpkin County, Georgia. He was born in North Carolina October, 1832 according to his Civil War Records. Also, there was a Henry Thomas joined the Confederate Army in Union County, GA and I believe he may be related to my James S. Thomas, because my grandfather's name is Albert Henry Thomas. I believe he descends from Aaron Thomas. I have been unable to place him in a family in the 1850 census. I have been told he maybe the son of Hosea Thomas.
