Married Elizabeth Grinstead on 8 July 1838, Washington Co., VA, USA. Elizabeth was born abt 1817 in Virginia. Children: Catherine, b abt 1839, VA Charles, b abt 1840, VA Edward, b abt 1842, VA Rhoda, b abt Mar 1850, VA Elizabeth, b abt 1852, VA Candacia, b abt 1858, VA Source: 1860 Washington Co Va census, own househld, age 45, b Va, day laborer, was citizen. Lived at Liberty Hall post office. Census number 1223 1173, page 164. Wife and children, info from same source. I have him in my data base, thinking he might be the son of my ggg grandfather, Lewis Thomas, Sr, b. abt 1760, of Washington Co VA. However, Reuben Thomas, father of Lewis Sr, has another son, John, and Stephen could be his son. Other possibilities may exist as well. That's what I have in a nut shell about a Stephen Thomas.
