Lynda, I don't have anything in my data base at present for David Price Thomas, b 1822, or Isabella in the time frame you want. I have a couple of David's born 'about' 1820. One is David son of Joseph and Mary J. ? Thomas, b. abt 1818, place not sure. Both parents were born in Washington Co VA. At one time, parts of WA County were in Sullivan Co TN or visa versa. Another David, b. abt 1827, was the son of _______Thomas and Mrs. Lucretia Gracilla 'Grace' Hannah Thomas, b abt 1805. She was a widow in 1840 and appears in the 1840 Washington Co VA census with 2 sons purported to be David and John. This same person may have married John Barbary in 1832. If so, I don't know how her widowhood in the 1840 census fits into the picture. More research needed here. Grace was suppose to be in Sullivan Co TN at some point. I'll have to go to my hand written notes to check on that. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On Tue, Feb 19, 2008 at 4:59 PM, Lynda <beckerw@ix.netcom.com> wrote: > Wanda, in all your searching, have you ran across a David Price Thomas b > 1822? Wanda, thank you so much for checking. We all are beginning to think he came from outer space. But I do appreciate your taking the time to check for me. Lynda, You're welcome. :o) If you have access to Ancestry.com, I bet you can find him. Their accessibility to records has greatly improved. I think you can use Ancestry free at your public library. Also Heritage Quest. Check and see and I think you'll make great progress. If you subscribe to Ancestry, I think it's aprx. $150 per year. I do have access to Ancestry.com and none of us can find out anything about his parents, but I will check Ancestry again. We believe his parents died when he and sister were young and the two were bound out to a man by the name of Mathis. There is another story, that the parents died as they were coming to America on a boat and were buried at sea???? The children were bound out to pay for their passage??? I get tired of looking and put it away for a while and then something strikes my interest and I start again. Thank you again.
