    1. [THOMAS] Daniel Robertson Thomas born 1826 - dau. Josephine Thomas born 1854
    2. Mary Zollman
    3. The above Daniel Robertson Thomas was my 2nd great grandfather. He was married to Abigail E. Overman in Washington County, Indiana. Their daughter Josephine was born in Missouri, but the family was soon back in Indiana living in Clark County. Due to a mistake in a record book, her mother's maiden name has sometimes been understood as "Verman" . The handwritten handwritten record is difficult to read, and the "O" looks like a very fancy part of the "V", but the marriage record of Daniel Thomas and Abigail E. Overman is very clear as to the correct spelling. I am told that Daniel's father was William Thomas Jr. born 1800, that his father was William Thomas Sr. born abt 1760 or 1770 born VA or Shelby County, KY, and that William Sr.'s father was Robert born 1737. William Thomas Sr.'s wife is said to be Mary Pauline (Polly) Cyphers. Jesse Overman gave his affidavit for Abigail, resident of Washington County, Indiana to marry Daniel R. Thomas. on Nov. 15, 1847. They were married Nov. 24, 1847. If you are researching this family, I would enjoy sharing information with you. Mary (Ruddell) Zollman.

    3. Here's what I have. Explanation, however. So far, I am not tied into this Thomas family - The Robert Thomas family, b 1714, Spotsylvania Co.,, Virginia. Robert had a son Reuben, and I have a Reuben Thomas born in the same general time frame. Someone told me they were sure the Reubens are the same. I've been working on this family - putting pieces together in order to make a connection. Much work has been done researching this family already. It's a huge family, and there are many loose ends. Robert Thomas was married twice. 1/ to Frances Remey, b abt 1720, of Virginia. Married 1739. Here's the source: U.S. and International Marriage Records, 1560-1900 about Robert Thomas Name: Robert Thomas Gender: male Birth Place: VA Birth Year: *1714* Spouse Name: Frances Remey Marriage Year: 1739 Number Pages: 1 Marriage 2/ to Anne Butler Moore, b 1737, of Orange County, Virginia, married 4 Apr 1757. Source: Virginia Marriages to 1800 - Spouse, Anne Moore; Spouse, Robert, Married 9 Apr 1757, Orange Co, VA I have not heard others refer to Robert's 1st marriage. However, In his Will he says " My lands and plantation I now live on, I leave to my wife, Anne Thomas, *to live on until she and my Executors shall think it convenient for her to move,* at which time the said land and plantation to be sold to the best advantage for the payments of my debts *and moving her and joining my family in Kentucky." *There is also a 20+ year difference in Robert's and Anne's ages. Since Robert and Anne didn't marry until 1757, any children born prior to that date would be from the 1st marriage. Robert had secured other land in Shelby Co KY, at least. That would have been Jefferson Co. before 1787 (I think). His agents were Lillard and Willis. After Robert died, Anne married a John Lillard. I don't know if this was Lillard of Lillard and Willis or not. To answer your question: By his first wife Frances Remey, Robert had a son (among others) named William. (This is determined by William's date of birth in that he was born before Robert and Anne married. I think this is your William Sr. He was born 1749 in Orange Co VA and died Apr 1815 in Shelby Co KY. He was married twice. 1/ Elizabeth Woolfolk and they had at least two children, Walter and poss. Sarah. 2/ Mary Polly Cyphers, b 22 Oct 1774 in Pennsylvania and died 30 Sept 1855 in Washington Co Indiana. I only have one son listed for them, but I'm sure there are other children. Marriage date - 30 Dec 1794, Shelby Co KY. Obediah Thomas, b 1807 in Shelby Co KY. (Actually I just found a total of 7 children for them, including a son William). The above dates differ from your 'approximate' dates. However, the lineage seems to fit well. I have to close this now. I have more information. Can you shed any light (from your gleanings) about any Reuben Thomas?
