I am one that replied to the original IGI inquiry. I did not intend that all should or could go to the FHC. Until recently, I did not have a FHC close and could not get films or use the IGI without some sacrifice. I did find alternate ways to obtain information, but it did cost. Ordering tapes through an FHC does cost as well. Genealogy is not an inexpensive hobby. You pay to obtain information and time is not cheap. As a professional, I realize that training also is not cheap. If you are recieving a service from others, you should expect to pay for that service. I just wanted the person making the inquiry to know that there are alternatives. Just like any choice in life, you should be prepared for the consequences of that choice. A more informed decision helps to make that choice more bearable. I apologize if I have offended you or any professional genealogist out there. I do apreciate the service you provide to those of us that cannot do the work ourselves, or c! hose not to.
