I am searching for the parents of James S. Thomas born October, 1832 in North Carolina. I locate him first in 1862 enlisting in the Confederate Army and he states his residence is Lumpkin County, Georgia, although he is enlisting in Union County, Georgia. I believe him to have a brother, Henry, who joined at the same time. He married my great grandmother, Sarah Elizabeth Maldin/Malden in Hamilton County, Tennessee, in January, 1865. He next appears in White County, Georgia, in 1870. I believe he has relatives there. He moves to Collinsville, DeKalb County, Alabama in the 1870s and appears on the 1880 census. He is still alive in 1920 census in Marion County, Alabama, living with a daughter, Charlsie Medlock. I would appreciate any help available. Davie Williams
