    1. Re: Help anyone out there
    2. Hi--I am sure it is frustrating to see your names and the promise of information, but no you do not need to go out and buy all of those CD's. First of all, it would be prohibitively expensive, and second, the people may not even be yours. There are millions of people with the same names. So what to do? There is a site that has volunteers who have already purchased all of those disks and are willing to do lookups. Here is one, I am sure there are others. http://www.greenheart.com/rdietz/cd-rom.htm Try a few of the more "sure" lookups and see what you get. As for the World Family Tree discs--take what you get there with a grain of salt. It was submitted by people searching their own ancestors. Some of what you get is documented, but not all. Some is just educated guessing. I have found many many errors in this material. What thtey are good for is finding a person who has searched in your line and you can then correspond with that person to verify thier details. Good luck and welcome to a fascinating hobby! Debbie
