I have a Hiram Thomas that I need to prove who his parents were. I think they were Silvanus and Elizabeth(Betsey) Pierce Thomas who lived in Pulteney, Steuben Co., NY. after moving from Middleboro, Ma. Silvanus and Elizabeth had children Moses, Silvanus, Abial, Nathan, Betsy married Ansel Pelton, Susanna married George Wallis, Abigail, David, Amos and Ebenezer. Moses lived and died 1864 Pulteney, NY Ebenezer lived in Rodman, Jefferson Co. in 1850 Abiel lived in Troupsburg, Steuben Co. in 1850, 1860 Silvanus lived in Woodhall, Steuben Co, in 1850 That is as far as I have got tracking down these children. Hiram and his wife Hannah had children George W., Lucinda married Wm. Owen, Deborah A. married a Decker, Lydia, Charles, Lewis, Albert, and Sylvenus. They lived in Catherine, Schuyler Co, NY. My big hope is to find a obit for one of Silvanus's children that would mention that they were survived by brother Hiram. Hiram death certificate says parents unknown.
