Are there any Oregon Thomases out there? The information I have on Matilda is scarce. She married Joseph Jacques on 9/1/1868 in Canyonville/Glendale/Douglas Co., Oregon. She had two children, Joseph Andrew (b. abt. 1870) and Sidney (b. abt. 1871). Both boys married Hanks sisters. It is my assumption that Matilda died first, then Joseph did, both prior to 1885, when Joseph's second wife, Rebecca filed to get guardians for both boys. I'd love to know more about Matilda and her family! Elaine Kahler
