    2. The info below is from the first page (the only one I have) of a history written by William Thomas in 1881. I'm new to this mailing list and fairly new to genealogy research itself, but I thought I'd put it out and see if anyone recognizes a connection. 1680 - John Thomas emigrated from Wales; he was a large planter and served as high sheriff in the Maryland colony 1779 - James Thomas born near Annapolis on the eastern shore of Maryland; his mother's maiden name was Rebecca Lyons Clark 1801 - William Thomas born August 16 in Red Stone, Ft. Washington, PA 1805 - James Thomas in Hamilton County, Ohio where Madisonville now stands 1815 - James Thomas in Clermont County, in the Witham settlement; he had 18 children, six by his first wife and 12 by his second wife: William, Ruth, Brazil (also seen as Bezaleel and Basil), John, Maria, James L. Jackson, Washington Henry, Nathon Franklin, Manda, Harriet, Rebecca, Thomas Benton, Mary Ann...
