Hello to all who subscribe to the same lists as I. I sent out a query about a book that I was looking for.(query below) I had so many responses. Some suggested the Library of Congress, others suggested inter-library loans. Two actually came up with Titles and authors. I think the one I want is the first on listed, sent to me by Gwen. However I want to check them both out. I hope I can find them as I have been told they are no longer in print. I appreciate the help I receive so very much. These mailing lists really work. It is like have a network family. I printed the e-mail responses about the two books below so that others who are interested can also look for them. Thanks again one and all. "Pioneers of the Ozarks" by Lennis L. Broadfoot is in the Sutro Library, San Francisco, Ca. , F47 209 B76. They do inter-library loans all over the country. Gwen Hi, Noticed you are looking for book that I have. I understand it is not longer in print. I bought mine in Arkansas several years ago. Anyway the book I have is called "Pioneer Life and Pioneer families of the Ozarks by Earl Berry. I located the William Skelton (Billy) Mays family which was from Armon T. Mays in 1978. There is a little over 3 pages on this family. Is this your line? If so I will be glad to type this for you if it will help you. Sincerely, Joy Sheppard <Original message from Lynda Campbell hilnders@pe.net > I was told of a book that mentioned my 4th great grandfather Reynolds MAY and his brothers and their families. I was told it was called "Early Pioneers of the Ozarks" or maybe "Pioneers of the Ozarks" I don't know who the author was or when it was written. Has anybody else heard of this book or seen it anywhere. I am desperate to find it. I was told it had a very accurate account of my family and their migration from TN>AR and some onto MO. My 4th great grandfather founded the town of Maysville, Benton Co. AR and his wife was Hannah ENGLISH d/o Joshua and Sarah ENGLISH. The book tells of a brother John MAY JR. and his wife Mary FORD. I believe it speaks of a brother William or Bill also. I would appreciate any help in finding this book. Thanks so much.
