I made a mistake in my first post. It should have been John Thomas instead of John Thomas Thomas. I have received some information that says John Thomas was the son of Joel and Mary[unknown]Thomas. Joel and Mary were both born 1788 in North Carolina. Here is a list of their children: [1] John Thomas-born 04 Aug 1817 in NC -no death date Married Susan Helms on 03 Nov 1836 in Campbell Co.,Ga. [my line] [2] Jenny Thomas-born 12 June 1819 [3] Lidia Thomas-born 12 Feb 1821 [3] Thomas Thomas-born 12 Sept 1822- no death date Married 1st Lucy Ann Doggett 2nd Elivira West [4] Balam Thomas-born 08 Oct 1824 Married Susan Melvina Allen[daughter of William M. Allen] Balam moved to Cass Co.,Texas after the Civil War. He died in 1882 and is buried in Macedonia Cemetery, Miller Co.,Arkansas. Joel and John were on the 1850 census of Campbell Co.,Ga. Note about Campbell Co.,Ga. It was formed 20 Dec 1828 from Carroll, Coweta, DeKalb and Fayette Counties. On 17 Oct 1870 the land lying north of the river was taken along with some of eastern Carroll to form what is now Douglas Co.,Ga. The rest merged with Fulton Co.,Ga. on 01 Jan 1932.
