    3. I am unsure if this will be of use to you Kenneth - but perhaps this can help someone in the THOMAS list. I am researching Thomas' in Ontario, Canada before 1850. In my research I came across a Probate/Will dated 10/1/1891 for THOMAS THOMAS. Here is the body of the Will: I Thomas, Thomas of the Township of Southwold in the County of Elgin and Province of Ontario Yeoman, being of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding do make publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making null and void all former last Wills and Testaments heretofore made by me. My will is first that my funeral expenses and just debts shall be paid by my executors hereinafter named, The residue of my estate and Property that will not be required for the payment of my just debts funeral charges and the expenses attending the execution of this my Will and the administration of my estate I give devise and dispose thereof as follows, I give and devise to my wife MARTHA THOMAS all my real estate being composed of the South East part of Lot 45 on the East side of the North branch of Talbot Road, in the Township of Southwold County and Province aforesaid containing 25 acres more or less and now owned by me the said THOMAS THOMAS together with my household furniture and effects during her natural life, and after her decease my will is the before mentioned property shall be sold, and the moneys realized by the sale after paying the expenses attending said sale shall be disposed of as follows. Five dollars to be given to my son JOSEPH THOMAS and the residue to be equally divided between my two daughter, viz, PHEBE CATHARINE THOMAS and MARGERITE ELIZABETH THOMAS. My will further is, that my said wife MARTHA THOMAS shall have my bay mare, Buggy and harness, and my before mentioned daughters to receive a cow each at the time of my decease. And I hereby nominate and appoint JOHN AUCKLAND of the Township of Westminster Yeoman Executor and my wife MARTHA THOMAS Executrix of this my last Will and Testament. In testimony whereof I the said THOMAS THOMAS have hereunto set my hand and seal this Sixteenth day of December One Thousand eight hundred and eighty nine.
