I would like to contact anyone researching any of the Thomas's in Montgomery County, Indiana. There are serveral Thomas families in this area in the 1800's. My gggrandmother was Esther Matilda Thomas. She was born in April 1829 in Ohio. She arrived, I assurme with her family, in Montgomery County, Indiana that same year. On March 16, 1848 she married William G. Keys. They had 7 children (Elizabeth A., William T., Amanda J., Martha E., John Franklin, Rozella and Jason), he died in the Civil War, and she died, March 12, 1886, and is buried in Montgomery County. I believe Esthers father was Jason Thomas, born 1802, in Ohio, and mother was Elizabeth, born 1800 in Kentucky. Their children: 1. a girl - born before 1825 in Ohio 2. Samuel Thomas - born 1825 in Ohio, m. Josina Titus in 1848 child: Amanda E. Thomas - born 1825 Indiana 3. Esther Matilda Thomas 4. John R. Thomas - born 1833 in Indiana, m. Letecia children: Elizabeth Thomas - born 1858 Indiana Martha Thomas - born 1860 Indiana 2nd wife: m. Mary Jane Wysong in 1861 5. Amanda Thomas - born 1835 in Indiana 6. Joseph Thomas - born 2838 in Indiana, m. Hannah Ratchef in 1862 m. Lydia Rowely in 1870 7. Jason Thomas - born 1840 in Indiana, m. Eliza McIntiere in 1860, m.
