I am researching the THOMAS family of Smith/Jackson Counties in Tennessee. Three brothers, Hiram, Humphrey and Lewis THOMAS lived in these counties from about 1809 until 1845. Hiram and Lewis went to Hamilton County, Ill. around 1830. Humphrey remained in that area of Tennessee until at least 1845. The 1850 Census of Illinois says Lewis Thomas was born in Virginia about 1792. The other two boys were born about 1785 and 1787. Lewis Thomas married Delilah White. Any clues on the parents or origin or families of these three boys, especially, Humphrey, would be appreciated. Francis C. Gill
