According to the records on file there, Job was born in VA. Another cousin that I'm in contact with has the place of birth for Job as Lancaster Co. Pa. The majority of Jesse's children and widow moved to middle TN in the Williamson/ Maury Co area. My ggggreat-grandfather, Job Howell Thomas, mentioned in the will raised his family in the Columbia TN area as did Finch Scruggs and Portia and Mary Polly Thomas both of whom married Pillow boys. Jesse Wood Thomas moved to the Nashville area in 1804 and relocated to east TN. According to the will, John, Anthony, and Nathaniel were all minors at the time of the execution of the will and would have presumably moved with their mother to Williamson Co. TN. From there John might very well have moved on to Ohio, however, one thing that I have noticed about this particular line of Thomases is that they tend to be rather clannish. This attitude about family probably stemmed from their roots in Wales. I've learned not to get too excited over what I find without at least a couple of sources, but every little snippit of information that I find drives me to find more. I've been looking for another source for Job Howell Thomas' parentage for almost two years and everything in the LDS records match the children listed here except for the birth dates and marriage order. I have several Thomas links on my web page that you might want to check out. Good Luck and good hunting!
