    1. THOMAS family, Pendleton Dist., Anderson, S.C.
    2. Jim Thomas or Debbie Thomas
    3. I'm trying to find out anything I can about my THOMAS line, which goes back to Pendleton Dist., Anderson Co., South Carolina. The family is said to have moved there from southern Virginia, possibly around Prince Edward County, and my line (my Great Grandfather, Thomas Henry THOMAS) moved on to Elbert County Georgia, but there were a number of children in the family, and some may have stayed in SC. There are some family graves supposedly in Sandy Spring Methodist Church in Sandy Springs, S.C. but I haven't visited there to verify this. Any information or any possible connections, please write and let me know. Here is the family as I have it in that area: 1. Ambrose Baldwin THOMAS was born between 1817 and 1822 in SC. He was usually listed in census and land records as "A.B. Thomas", "A. Baldwin Thomas" or "Baldwin Thomas". He may have had a brother named George THOMAS, according to family oral history. Mary Ann CLARK (daughter of Henry CLARK and Sarah) was born on 22 Apr 1818 in SC. Ambrose Baldwin THOMAS and Mary Ann CLARK had the following children: 2 i. A. L. THOMAS was born about 1843. +3 ii. Samuel Warren THOMAS. He died in a Civil War battle up North. +4 iii. Amanda F. THOMAS. 5 iv. M. F. THOMAS was born about 1848. +6 v. Thomas Henry THOMAS. 7 vi. Ellen THOMAS was born about 1851. 8 vii. Mary THOMAS was born about 1853. 9 viii. Sallie THOMAS was born about 1855. 10 ix. Harriet THOMAS was born about 1857. 11 x. William Joe THOMAS was born on 5 Dec 1858. He died on 29 Jul 1882. He was buried in Sandy Springs Methodist, Anderson Co., SC. 12 xi. John W. THOMAS was born on 4 Oct 1861. He died on 24 Jul 1882. He was buried in Sandy Springs Methodist, Anderson Co., SC. Thanks very much. Jim Thomas jwthomas@erols.com (Rockville, Maryland)
