    1. Re: THOMAS-D Digest V99 #95
    2. I am quite curious about this THOMAS family; I have a Nancy Ann (Mamie?) THOMAS, born (aprox.) 1820 in (GA?NC?); Family information has it that Nancy had at least two sisters. 1. "Doll" 2. "Geneva"; I have descriptions of these two, and family "lore" about the three girls. Nancy, Doll, and Geneva were thought to be of Native American Descent, however, the family "lore" states that either Doll, or Geneva said they were Black Deutch. We believe Nancy was born in GA, however, do not have ANY documentation as to fact. I do not have information on her parents/siblings, however, have extensive information regarding her spouse (Joshua Tallie STANFORD), and their children, and so forth. I have Nancy marrying Joshua aprox. 1835, and both she and Joshua are burried in the Post Oak Cemetery, Petteway Community, Robertson County, TX. Joshua is said to have had a total of 3 wives: (Susan JONES & Louisa JOHNSON), these being prior to Nancy. Nancy died on January 09, 1904, in Robertson County, TX; She was aprox. 15/16 years old when she married Joshua. We show the STANFORD clan in Columbia county, GA around 1820; they were also in Florida, Mississippi, Louisianna, and Texas. This particular clan (STANFORD) can be traced back to Dorcester, Wocester and Somerset Counties, Maryland back to the late 1600's. Nancy Ann (Mamie?) THOMAS was said to have had dark skin, dark hair, and dark eyes; also, said that she did not have another single hair on her body. "Doll", or "Geneva" was (were) said to be "of large frame", and dark haired as well, and "Doll" 'supposedly' went to Oklahoma to "claim" some of the Indian Land. (Again, this "story" is of family lore, and has NOT yet been proven). I hope there is another THOMAS/STANFORD researcher out there that I have not yet been in contact with as of yet, (and sure there are others that I HAVE been in contact with) (Hello to all). If any other information is needed, please do not hesitate to contact me. Will offer any help I am able to provide with the information I have, and if needed, will see if there is anyone else to put you in contact with. (There are many STANFORD researchers, however, most of them have about the same information I have regarding my Nancy THOMAS). Thanks in advance for any help/info. Sincerely, Donna R. Massa (HEYUITSMED@aol.com)
