Ohio where some members still live today. Sarah Thomas and Henry Hatfield were married in 1801 in Warren Co., KY. Sarah's father was William Thomas and I believe her brother/uncle was name Walter Thomas. Sarah and Henry Hatfield moved to Morgan/Howard Co., MO in the early 1800's where one of their sons, Zahariah, later moved to Cass/Bates Co., MO. One of Zachariah's daughters married a LEMON//LAMMON. If any of this interests you, I'll be glad to give you further information. It may only be a coincidence, but the THOMAS families (there were several brothers) that I'm descended from (my father's family) lived in Lewis Co., KY from about 1790s on. The LEMON family (my grandmother's family) lived in Scioto Co., Ohio from about 1820 on. There were THOMASes living in Scioto Co., Ohio, too. I have records on a whole cemetery full of them but I don't know their connection to the Lewis County family of THOMAS. The really interesting part of the above information, the two counties lie opposite each other on the banks of the Ohio River!!!! So, I would VERY strongly suggest you start checking the records in those two counties for information and you might well be able to find if your ancesters came from there. Yet another coincidence, there was an Aurilla SLOCUM living in that very same area of Scioto Co.! Her grandson married Cora Alice LEMON and was my grandfather! So, with a first name of Aurilla in your family, the last names of THOMAS and LEMON..... Anyway, it might be a place for you to start. Try checking out the various census records from 1840, 1830, 1820, etc. Sue Bishop ==== THOMAS Mailing List ==== Thank you for your generous financial support of Rootsweb! RootsWeb Gen. Data Coop.
