I don't think it is Samuel Henry & Charity. She doesn't look like Charity...but people change. Charity was short and so is this lady in the pic. But...we don't think it is the same person. Charity Ann Boon Ruffin remarried 2nd husband Joseph Daughtridge nicname"Pap" and had 10 more children. When Samuel H. died their only child was about 18 months old...Frances Ann Cornelia Ruffin, my great grandmother. My Great Grandmother...Frances Ann Cornelia Ruffin b6-15-1864 Nash d6-8-1946 .she married her 1st cousin. James Robert Thomas. Her husbands mother is her aunt (the sister of her daddy). Her mother -in-law is her aunt Martha Ann Susan Ruffin who was married to Elisha Thomas. Look back at the letter...You say Samuel "H". and Martha were 1st cousins... The girls name Rachel shows up 3 times...I wonder if this is Biblical or significant namesake to an older sister-in-laws name Rachel Peele married to her probably much older brother Robert Or could she have been named after aunt-in-law ?Rachel? married to her dad's older brother Stephen or could it be the mystery name of her mother since she is the 1st daughter of the 2 daughters out of 9...7 boys..2 girls. I want to Prove I'm of the John, Sr. line I want to find out who the wife of John Sr. is. I want to find out what Hannah's last name is the wife of Nathaniel. I want to prove when my Samuel Henry Ruffin really died. I want to find his grave up here in Richmond VA if possible. I want to find out what battle he may have died in or what hospital. I want to find out who Stephen was married to. ?? Rachel?? I want to prove that John Sr. is the dad of Samuel and grandfather of Samuel Henry and where is the documentation from to prove it. On my Surname Gay...I want to find out if I descend from John Rolfe and Pocohontas (Matoaka) Chief Powhatans Daughter- Princess of Virginia from Jamestown. HELP>>>> I can't do this alone.
