    3. My Joseph Riley Thomas at this time has no known siblings or names of parents. He did have a daughter named Nancy Loucinda Thomas however, his wife Rachel Adams had a sister named Nancy and one named Lucinda. This is where we feel the name came from. Rachel also had a grandmother on her father's side that was called Nancy. It has been told in our family that Cherokee blood is evident and I have seen pictures of past family members who look very indian like in appearance. Cherokee Indians were plentiful in N.C. and Ga. Nothing definate yet. Have you tried indian records through the reservations? They are on line and if you know a name, they will have it in their records. They will share information when they know it is for heritage purposes.
