    3. I am searching my THOMAS line from Tregonissey, Cornwall. Richard THOMAS (b.27FEB 1820 Tregonissey) married Elizabeth MINEAR (b.10FEB 1822 Borlorne) date and place unknown. They had 12 children, born 1842 - 1865, all born Tregonissey, Mary, William, John, Richard, Rebecca, Anne, Nicholas, Susan, Anne (#2), William (#2), Joseph, and Elizabeth Jane. William #1 died at age 5 months. Anne #1 died at age 5. Joseph died at age 3 weeks. William #2 was my great-grandfather. William, Mary and Anne came to the US about 1882, possibly on a boat called "Fortune". William married Lavinia HICKS, 11OCT 1882, in Nevada City, CA, possibly by shotgun, as their first child arrived 7 MARCH 1883. Richard (b.1820) was the oldest of five children of John THOMAS and Rebecca (name unknown). The other foiur children were William, Ann, Nicholas, and Joseph, all born 1822 - 34 in Tregonissey. Joseph (b. 1835?) also went to the US and married Margaret Jane Hicks (age 17) in 1862 in Nevada City. Joseph sponsored William #2 to come to the US in 1882. Joseph and family were in the 1870 census of Nevada Township (later Nevada City). I do not know what year he came to the US. If any of this sounds familiar to you, please contact me! Thanks!
