How about another Thomas Thomas born 9/1825 in Buncombe County, North Carolina (this part later became Yancey County). He married Rachel Silvers about 1845. Rachel was born 1/1833 and died 6-28-1919. Tommy died 7/24/1912. They were married 65 years. Both are buried in the Thomas Family Cemetery on the Roses Branch of the "Toe" River. Thomas Thomas was the son of Aaron Obediah Thomas and Elizabeth Hunsucker. Leslie Thomas 'If man cares not for his roots, then how can he care for his branches?' --Doyle M Davis
I have a Tom Thomas (Tom Prosser Thomas) who was born in 1889, taking into account his age at marriage to Florence Mary Annie Richards in Cornwall, England on 25 Dec 1915. Tom was a teacher, his given residence at the time of marriage, Tenby, Pembrokeshire, Wales. His father was William Prosser Thomas, an engineer. The closest I have got is William Prosser Thomas who lived in Breconshire, but he died in 1895 and Tom's father wasn't shown as deceased on the marriage certificate. I haven't been able to connect a Tom of the correct age to the family.Tom had been teaching in Cornwall since 1913 and, if his parents had been dead at the time of his marriage, who's adress was he giving as his home address? Anna Thomas Leyburn, N Yorks.
Your Thomas L. Thomas may have a connection to my line of Thomas's in DeKalb Co. Ga. who came from the Greenville District of South Carolina around 1827 to 1832. These Thomas men, Joseph, George, and William all were in the 1840 census of DeKalb Co. in the same district. I have come across your Thomas L. Thomas and he may have a connection but I'm not sure how. You can contact me at bvickers@alaweb.com. Naomi Vickers
Hi, I have yet another Thomas THOMAS, He was probably born in Virginia bet 1720-1730. The first concrete evidence I found on Thomas THOMAS was a deed dated Nov. 12, 1762 where Thomas and his wife, Mary Crowder of Dinwiddie County, Virginia bought land in Brunswick County, Virginia. Thomas THOMAS died before September 18, 1781 in Brunswick County, Virginia. His wife, Mary Thomas filed an inventory of his estate on September 18, 1781. They had 5 children: 2 girls Mary and Elizabeth; 3 sons, John, Richard and David. John was born about 1759 in Dinwiddie County, Virginia according to information in his rejected Rev. War pension Application. John had as one wife, Prudence LNU. Family tradition states her family surname was TOWNSEND. John left Brunswick County, Virginia sometime after 1803 and migrated to Hancock County, Georgia where several of his children married and about 1818 he and some of his children migrated to Autauga County, Alabama. Would love to hear from anyone who is researching this Thomas THOMAS. Irma J. Roy At 03:26 PM 7/27/2007, you wrote: >I am looking for another Thomas (L?) He and his son, David (b. 1820 in Wales) emigrated to SE PA (Philadelphia area) from Wales in 1822. David married an Ann Clayton. One of their children was my grandfather, William Thomas, who married Clara Schmidt. They lived most of their lives in Huntingdon Valley, Montgomery Co., PA. William and Clara had four daughters and one son: Ida, Anna, Mildred, Helen, and William Forest. Helen Thomas was my mother. I've looked into the name Seth Thomas. He is not part of my Thomas lineage. Barbara ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour

Does anyone have info on a Thomas Thomas (b. 1722/d. 1786) from Wales who came to southeastern PA - Philadelphia area - not sure what year. Married Ann ____. He has at least one son, Seth (b. 1748-49/ d. 1827) who was married to Prudence Edwards (1754-1821). Thanks! Lynn
Just got back from the Germanna reunion and had 3 outstanding events. One -- I met a Thomas cousin who I did not know about until DNA testing "introduced" us. His Thomas patriarch and mine were brothers in the early 1700's Culpeper Co., VA. His line went to NC and mine went to KY Two -- met another Thomas cousin whose ancestor and mine were brothers in Ohio in the late 1700's. Her line was through his daughter and you know how easy it is to "lose" female lines Three-- Sat at the table and visited with a SCHEIBLE descendant. When I got home, I realized that her ancestor was possibly a sponsor at a baptism for one of my family in the early 1700s in Germany "On 17 April 1712 there was born and baptized on the same day the baby Hanss Wendel Thoma, The parents were Johann Thoma and Anna Maria (who we know was born Blankenbuehler.) The sponsors at this baptism were Hanss Wendel Neideck of Oberoewisheim and Maria Eleonora the wife of Hanss Jerg Schaiblin. The Schaiblins were Germanna immigrants in 1717." John and Anna Maria were the immigrants for all the German Thomas family in Culpeper Co., VA I'm am checking with the Germanna experts about Schaiblin versus Scheible. Pretty neat, huh. Take care. Thanks, Linda Linda, The DAR papers will contain the name of the patriot, where & when he was born, where he served during the war, date of death, name of wife & her maiden name, where she was born, date of birth & death and a list of their children and their spouses. Now........The above information I named is not always complete because these records are sometimes hard to find. It just depends on how much info is located when filing the papers. Some papers have a lot of info and some just has the info on the patriot. What Patriot are you searching? I could look it up on the DAR web and see if I can find anything about him. Cynthia, How are you? It has been a long time since we have talked (via the Internet). What a coincidence I saw your e-mail and just found the following marriage annoucement for Emily Thomas Allen (daughter of Joseph C. & Catherine (Pency)(Thomas) Allen) and Joseph Mikell. Catherine (Pency) was the daughter of Riley T. & Emily Thomas. Mrs. Emily Allen-Powell and Mr. Joe Mikell were happily married by Judge H.G Gibson Thursday [April 7, 1927] of last week. Mrs. Mikell has lived in Folkston practically all of her life and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Alien. They are located in rooms in Mrs. E. H. Wright's residence. Source: Charlton County Herald. Folkston, GA April 14, 1927. Emily Thomas Allen first married Powell (no other information on him) and they had a son Clifford Windell Powell. She married Joseph Mikell and the had a son Joseph A. (Pat) Mikell, Jr. Do not have any more information on either of her sons. Is this Joseph Mikell part of your lineage?
