Believe that my Thomas' came from PA, migrated south to KY/TN then back up to IL. However, they corresponded with their cousins in PA while in IL. There are a number of Thomas's who came to Brown County, Illinois from Fayette County, Ohio, and I'm on a rabbit chase, but something has to come together. They all settled in the Cooperstown area and were connected with the Barkers. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Gladys

Not only am I doing genealogy on this family, I am trying to locate ANY living family members. Daniel P. THOMAS b. Miss? (my g-grandfather). Daniel was in Randolph Co. AR by 9 Sept. 1860, when he married Deland A. POPE. Possibly 3 children were born to this union. James Addison THOMAS born Currentview MO in Ripley Co, 15 Jan 1863 (My Grandfather), also Mary E. THOMAS ALLEN SCHMIDT, and William A. Dan and these 3 children were in the Doniphan area by at least 1876 when they showed up on the State special Census done that year. Also listed on that Census was Daniel's 2nd wife Susan E. Children of Dan and Susan are Walter L., John A., Charles L, Andrew, Horrace M., and Benjamin D. The family lived in the Doniphan area for many years. Daniel died 11 April 1889 in Doniphan. James Addison THOMAS "Add" (My grandfather), married Addie Mae TOWLES in Doniphan on 18 May 1895. He died 22 Aug 1927,. She was born 28 March 1875, d 17 Nov 1925 in Doniphan. "Add was very active in Doniphan. He was postmaster at Ponder 1896-1898, he was Commissioner of Schools for Ripley Co., elected to office in 1891, taught school at Mt. Pisgah in ripley co., owned a large store in Doniphan that was later Whitwell and Sons, and was a successful farmer, and part owner of the Doniphan State Bank. "Add" remarried a Poplar Bluff woman by the name of Ollie WRIGHT HOUSEKEEPER, after Addie's death in 1925, and lived in Poplar Bulff until his death in 1927. James Addison THOMAS "Jack", (My Father), b. 15 Dec.1907 in Doniphan, d. 22 Aug 1977 in Wichita KS. "Jack" was married while still living in Doniphand to Lida R. CAUDLE. To this union was born one child, Dolores Roseman THOMAS on 22 Oct. 1928. Jack's 2nd marriage was to Mary K. GRAVATT MOORE in Wichita KS. This union produced 5 children, Sheila Marie THOMAS PLY, Jacqueline Kaye THOMAS WOOD, James Ralph THOMAS, Judith Anne THOMAS VAUGHN GORHAM, and Jay Dee THOMAS. I Have very little other information on this family. Not only do I feel a need to find them for genealogy pruposes, but to make contact with a missing family. 3. We had Thomas' we lost in Indiana. John Thomas married Jane Reed in Monticello, KY. (second marriage for both, he married his son-in-law's mother) In 1833 he owned land in Morgan County, IN. as did his son-in-law, Burris Allen Reed. The Reeds then moved to Warren Co, IL in 1850. Can't find what happened to Jane and John. Think his first marriage was in VA. Couldn't find any record of their deaths in KY, IN or IL. Mary Reed
