Hello Thomas searchers.....my most wanted Thomas' are shown above. I have very little information on them. I know Tommie was born in the late 1700's, I think TN, wouldn't swear to it though. I just received this information though. They are both buried in Shelbyville, TN in the Coats-Blessing cemetery. No other Thomas' are buried there, but we think some of there children married into either the Blessing or Coats family. I'm going to try to search for them. All information would be welcome. I am looking for information on a Haywood THOMAS that married a Hannah HASH 12/12/1865 and were divorced before 1880. They had 5 children - Sarah Jane, William, John, Nettie, and America. Hannah HASH was born 12/25/1848 at NC or VA. Hannah remarried a second time to Samuel ROLFE on 12/14/1881 at Beverton, OR. We are descendents of Sarah Jane THOMAS RICHARDSON who was born April 28, 1867 in West Virginia and she married Leonard Franklin HICKLIN. If anyone recognizes any of these names and has information to share we'd really appreciate it!
Hello, My ggrandfather was George THOMAS from Blakely, PA. He married Maria HENSHAW of Bethany, Wayne Co.PA, 1 Oct 1857. They had two children that lived. Ella who married John BONE and Ida who married George BELL. My records indicate that George Washington Thomas was from Hughesville, Lycoming Co, PA and his parents were Samuel THOMAS and Elizabeth WOOLING?? His father may have been from MA. Does anyone know of this family? Thanks Joan
Friends, My most wanted Thomas is Michael. He was in Rockingham County NC as early as the late 1770's. Rockingham was then Guilford, Rowan, or Orange County depending on the years. Michael was married to a Barbara, some suppose Harrensparger from Culpeper Co. Va. but I have my doubts. This Michael may have been from Culpeper because documentation shows Thomas neighbors who were from that area. Family legend says that Michael was called "Dutchman" which leads one to believe that he was of German descent. Michael died circa 1817 and left a will. He lived in the Matrimony/Whetstone Creek area near present day Shilo crossroads and Settle's Bridge. Any information on Michael, his origin, ancestors or descendants would be appreciated. Don Thomas Simmons 704 Nandon Place, West Columbia SC 29170
My roadblock is Charles Thomas, b. 16 Jul 1786, m. Sarah Sprague in Washington Co., OH 17 Dec 1807 and d. 28 Aug 1820. According to census, etc., he is supposed to have been born in Virginia. I would like to find his parents. Descendents left Ohio after the Civil War and moved to Iowa and some moved on to Kansas. June Thomas Allan

John Thomas (and I know there are a million of them) married Matilda Kurr in Farquar Co., VA. She must have died. He later married Jane Reed in Monticello, KY. He had a daughter Matilda who married Burris Reed, Jane's son. In 1830 they all moved to Indiana and all had land there. We know what happened to the Reeds but John and Matilda where are you? Can't find what happened to them or where they are buried. Also need more info about John's family in VA. John was my husband's g g g grandfather. Mary Reed
Hi--I can't promise a connection, but .... I have a William Thomas born in Bristol England in 1857 who married in Fulton County IL in 1879. His wife was Mary Jones. It is rumored throught the family that his sister Hannah married Mary's brother Bill. Bill and Hannah also went to BC--Ladysmith about the same time period that you mentioned. I wonder if your Thomas could be another Thomas sibling????? William's parents were Amos Henry Thomas and Rachael Elizabeth Prosser. I don't know if Amos and Rachael emigrated to the US or not, nor when William arrived. Possible locations in IL to search are Canton and Lewistown in Fulton County. William and Mary went to Wichita KS around 1900 and remained there. I would love to make a connection for this branch since I have been able to find nothing to date. Debbie in California

Are there any Oregon Thomases out there? The information I have on Matilda is scarce. She married Joseph Jacques on 9/1/1868 in Canyonville/Glendale/Douglas Co., Oregon. She had two children, Joseph Andrew (b. abt. 1870) and Sidney (b. abt. 1871). Both boys married Hanks sisters. It is my assumption that Matilda died first, then Joseph did, both prior to 1885, when Joseph's second wife, Rebecca filed to get guardians for both boys. I'd love to know more about Matilda and her family! Elaine Kahler

Seeking information on Jeremiah Thomas, place of Birth and parents. Through a lease Jeremiah Thomas of the state of GA, planter, was present in Edgefield County, 96 Dist, SC in Oct 1795. Sold land granted to him in Oct 1794 on Little Steven's Creek and waters of the Savannah River. His name appears on the SC 1800 census. I believe he had at least two sons, Joshua, b 1799 and Jeremiah 1800 something. Joshua was my GGGrandfather. My GGrandfather was William A. Thomas born in Green Cty, AL in 1829 and Grandfather was Charles William Thomas b Scooba, Kemper Cty, MS, in 3-10-1863 where he married Sallie Frances Blair in 1890 and moved to Houston, TX where he worked for the Southern Pacific RR. Joshua and Jeremiah were present in Scooba, Kemper Cty in the mid/late 1800s. Joshua at age 71 married to a Narcissa with a son David on the 1870 census. I have these Thomas's in Texas to date. There was a Josiah Thomas at the Red Bank Baptist church on the little Saluda River in Edgefield Dist before 1792. He was on the 1790 census for Edgefield Dist, SC. Thought these names might be of the same family somehow because of the religious names. Guy H Thomas Houston, TX
