    1. THOMAS, Owen in VA>PA>NC?>KY, 1730-1808
    2. Owen THOMAS had property in Frederick Co., VA, purchased in 1751. Owen md. Mary (Polly) HARDIN, daughter of Major John HARDIN, whom lived in Hampshire Co., next to Frederick Co., at the time . Owen sold the Frederick Co. property in 1771. Some references state that he moved to George's Creek, Fayette Co., PA with the HARDINs in late 1771, but I cannot find Owen there. One reference states that his children were born, starting in 1752, in Rowan Co., NC and Sumner Co., TN---can't find him in either of those two areas. He couldn't have been in two places at the same time, right? Did he just own the property in Frederick Co. and live somewhere else? Are these family histories confused??? I sure am! Does anyone have references about this family to help explain this? Thanks! Email sundea2@aol.com.

    2. Beginning about March 1st, possibly a few days later, the LDS Church will release a beta test of Family Search on the Internet for about a 3 week trial basis at: http://www.familysearch.org (Keep checking until they actually have it up and running.) They would like everyone to try it out and respond! After the short beta testing they will take it off the Internet in order to fix any problems. Betty

    1. OLIVER- THOMAS and BRYAN
    2. Sylvia H. Jones
    3. Does anyone know the maternal grandparents of Lewis T. OLIVER? His parents were Benjamin and Elizabeth (THOMAS) OLIVER-married-1789 Benjamin died 1804. Did Elizabeth get married again after Benjamin died? Had she been married before she married Benjamin? Did she have a son name Lewis THOMAS? Who were her parents? Her son,Lewis T. OLIVER, is he the same one that was sheriff in both Lenoir and Onslow county? I know Lewis T.OLIVER'S wife was Elizabeth HOLT, d/o/Thomas G.HOLT/Elizabeth WALLACE. Elizabeth WALLACE being the d/o/Richard and Ann WALLACE. Lewis T. OLIVER and Elizabeth had a daughter Charlotte Elizabeth OLIVER who married Joseph BRYAN,who was his father? C. Elizabeth and Joseph BRYAN had a daughter Josie Ann BRYAN b/1844/d/1905 who married 1859 James Monroe WOOTEN b/1827/d.1899,lived Cathrine Lake area,Onslow County for fifteen years, then moved to Lenoir Co. I am trying to find how Marcus D. THOMAS near Catherine Lake area fits in with this family. For in the will of Elizabeth THOMAS, mother of Lewis T. OLIVER, she states the three daughters of Lewis THOMAS, as her three granddaughters, then beneath their names was also Marcus D. THOMAS(for whom is the g-g-grandfather to my spouse). I need confirmation who his parents are. I need this one link to get back to Wales. He being a descendant of William THOMAS Sr. and a possibility of Sir Philip THOMAS. I've been told both, but as yet have no document to prove it. Thank you ever so much for any help I can get. Sylvia

    1. Pennsylvania THOMASES
    2. Found this while looking through a book by George H. Eckhardt entitled "Pennsylvania Clocks and Clockmakers", New York, Bonanza Books, 1955: "Thomas, Joseph - Whitpain or Norriton Twp., Montgomery Co. - Learned clockmaking with Griffith in Philadelphia and was established in his own business in 1830. Was early president of Montgomery National Bank. Some of the Joseph Thomas clocks are marked 'Penn Square'. Thomas, Isaac - Willis Town, Chester Co. - Born 1721, died 1802. One of the best and most prolific clockmakers of Chester County. Thomas, Mordecai - Willis Town, Chester Co. - Born 1767, died 1837. Son of Isaac Thomas. Followed his father's clockmaking for a while, but had many other interests." Hope this ties in with someone's line. Unfortunately not mine. Nancy
