    2. Hi List, I have just joined in the hope that someone can help me with the passenger list for the SS Narrung which ran into a storm in December 1912 and had to return to England. It was on its way to Australia. I believe my grandparents Charles and Harriet Powell were on that ship. Is there a site that you can go into and put in their names and find out what ship they actually came out to Australia on. Thanks. Hi Margaret There are some passenger arrivals to QLD ports indexed to 1925 in book format Only other index I know of is to the Port of Fremantle 1895 -1925 I checked this and are a couple Charles POWELLs 1913+ but no Harriet and a few Mr & Mrs POWELLs > I believe my grandparents Charles and Harriet Powell > were on that ship. > On the off chance I checked the indexes of ' The Times' . Thought maybe there might have been a mention of the passengers but damage to the shop and its cargo only were of concern ! http://www.sl.nsw.gov.au/databases/fromhomefaq.cfm You need a readers ticket to access these data bases > Is there a site that you can go into and put in their > names and find out what > ship they actually came out to Australia on. > Do you know which port they arrived at ? Immigration records were still State based at that time bye MargM Beautiful Central Coast of NSW
